Symptoms

You receive the error message "You are attempting to install a dump with an older filedump format which isn't supported on a 64 bit OS. Choose another dump or try making a new dump with CS 5.1 site exporter."

Cause

This problem has two possible causes.

  1. The dump was made in the older DAT-format which is not supported on 64-bits operating system.
  2. You are installing a dump in the new DATX-format on version 5.1. There is a bug in the installation program that incorrectly detects the dump as beeing in the older format.

Resolution

  1. Use a later version of the SiteExporter utility.
  2. In CS 5.1 you can either install a database using the NewDatabase utility or install on a 32-bit system and attach the created database during installation on the 64-bit system.

Status

The second cause has been fixed in version 5.2 and the first cause is by design.
